Aftercare of your tattoo is extremely important; your amazing, unique artwork will be with you forever so it's important to follow the correct procedure to help it heal perfectly.
Savannah Studios is a clean and professional studio using sterilized instruments and pigments.
After the process, the artist will have dressed the tattoo for you and spoken to you in-depth about the aftercare process. We recommend the use of Tattoo Goo or Palmers Coco butter for the continued care of your artwork. Below are some general guidelines for you to follow;
-
Do not re-bandage the tattoo.

-
Do not apply Vaseline, lanolin or petroleum-based products.

-
Do not apply alcohol.

-
Do not rub, scratch or pick at the tattoo.

-
Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight, swim, soak in the bath or go to the sauna for 2 weeks.

-
Be sure the clothing touching your tattoo is clean and soft.

-
Once home take off the cling film, and wash it carefully in warm soapy water ensuring to remove all surface blood.

-
Pat dry with a clean towel and let it air dry. Then, gently and sparingly apply a thin layer of your chosen aftercare, tattoo goo or cocoa butter, 2-3 times a day, as the tattoo begins to dry out, apply as and when it is needed.

-
After 5 to 14 days, the tattoo may start to peel and scab (this is normal - like sunburn). DO NOT pick or peel the skin away. Let it fall off naturally during washing or application of aftercare. Fresh skin will soon replace the dead skin. Colours may fade during the process but will return when healing is completed.
If you have any questions or are concerned during the healing process at all please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
